NRA Home Firearm Safety Course Overview:

***PLEASE READ ALL THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE ATTENDING***

This is the NRA Home Firearm Safety Course. This is a HANDS-ON course that takes roughly 4 hours to complete. All learning is done in the classroom, with short breaks every hour.

This course is available to only law-abiding citizens of the United States of America. All students who successfully complete the course and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of safe gun handling will receive a certificate signed by your Certified NRA Instructor.

***THIS IS A NON-SHOOTING COURSE!!!***

***DO NOT BRING GUNS OR AMMUNITION TO THIS COURSE!!!***

Children are welcome and encouraged if they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you plan on bringing a child, please notify us at the time of registration; there is a $25.00 for bringing a child with you.  If the child is to receive a certificate as well, the entire registration fee is required.

This course will cover the following topics:

  • NRA Rules of Safe Gun Handling
  • Primary Causes of Firearm Accidents
  • Firearm Parts and Nomenclature
  • Loading and Unloading different action types
  • Ammunition components
  • Cleaning Care
  • Safe Storage of Firearms in the Home
  • Benefits of Recreational Shooting Sports

***DO NOT BRING GUNS OR AMMUNITION TO THIS COURSE!!!***

There is a minimum (non-refundable) deposit of $25.00 due at time of registration that will be applied to the total $75.00 cost of your course. If you have paid the deposit and are unable to attend the course, your deposit will be applied to your next course registration. The remaining balance must be paid prior to attending the course. The deposit allows us to order your course materials and completion certificate from the NRA.

Your NRA-certified Instructor will provide firearms for demonstration.  Light refreshments will also be available at no cost to you. Students are NOT allowed to bring firearms to this class.

This course will be held onsite at C&S Professional Building in Atlanta, Georgia 30331.

Courses are limited to 4 students per instructor so that we may give you the amount of individual attention necessary to meet the learning objectives.

This course as it is advertised covers both semi-automatic pistols and revolvers (single-action and double-action), pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns, bolt action rifles and rifles with charging handles. There are specialized courses available if you want to choose only one type of action. If this interests you, let us know; the deposit remains the same no matter which one you choose.
