Keeping you guys informed with firearms news is one of the most enjoyable parts of owning P.S.A.!! Over the past week or so, we received several inquiries from our readers in the Pacific NW regarding recent legislation slated to go into effect. We decided to give you guys a quick update regarding the matters of affairs in Oregon….
Oregon – When will it stop….. Last week on the 18th, the Oregon State legislature presented a petition to restrict the Second Amendment rights of responsible armed citizens by imposing a broad, “one-size-fits-all” rule for the storage of owned firearms. The newly introduced legislation will force owners to (1) lock all firearms with a trigger-locking device; or (2) keep them in a locked container, unless carried by the legal owner. The tough part is that each owned firearm that does not meet the new requirements will constitute a separate violation!! Also included in the language of the petition is a stipulation that holds owners who’s firearms are lost or stolen strictly liable for any injury to persons or property committed using the firearm within four years if the firearms were not stored in compliance with the law. Responsible armed citizens would also be held liable for any injury occurring within four years that results from a firearm transferred to another individual if the firearm was not transferred in a locked container or with a locking device. It seems that some anti-gun lobbies will stop at nothing to cripple the 2nd Amendment rights of owners…. Stay tuned to P.S.A. for more updates as this unfolds……..
