Keys to Successful Training: Vol. 1 – Consistency

Successful shooting isn’t always about being great.  It’s about consistency.  Consistent hard work and training leads to successful shooting.  Being great will come in time.   One only becomes a great shooter after tons of consistent hard work and training.  In this first installment of: Keys to Successful Training, we want to briefly talk to you guys about being consistent in your training regimen.

Regardless of how complex your training program may be, as long as it is effective and safe, we want you to be consistent with it.  The problem is that with most shooters, they practice bad shooting behaviors and those become ingrained in their muscle memory and minds.

At PSA, we like to teach all of our students from the ground up.  We always start with solid, effective, and safe elemental shooting mechanics ONE BY ONE.  Once our students have mastered the foundational mechanics, we ensure that they can do them well once. After they are able to demonstrate good effective mechanics once, it’s time to replicate that.  As they continue to train on their own, we stress the importance of them replicating with consistency.  As students are able to consistently replicate solid, effective, and safe shooting mechanics, they are well on their way to becoming great shooters!!!

***  If you are unfamiliar with firearms and/or their accessories, and want to learn more, PSA strongly suggests that you find, enroll, and attend a comprehensive and reputable firearms safety course. Firearms safety is all of OUR responsibility.

We want to thank you for taking out the time to stop by our lane at the shooting range!!  We hope that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you stop back by early and often to catch up on all PSA updates!  We truly hope that we were able to hit the target, and if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to shoot them our way!!  We look forward to shooting the breeze with you soon again!!

And as always….remember to watch your six and stay low!!!
