***First and foremost, PSA would like to take this time to share our condolences with the victims of the tragedies that occurred in Santa Fe, Texas and in Noblesville, Indiana. Our hearts not only go out to the victims but to their families as well. Once again, some cowards with firearms have decided to enact heinous crimes on innocent children and their teachers. Our prayers go out to the citizens of both Indiana and Texas as they try and recapture a sense of normalcy after such egregious crimes.***
Keeping you guys informed with firearms news is one of the best ways we are able to make sure our readers are knowledgeable and remain responsible. This weeks post covers some very interesting news from both the Federal as well as the State level.
National News – Trump attempts to finish previous propositions…. Recently, in attempts to solidify legislation propositions started by the Obama administration, President Trump’s team published a proposed rule that would in essence shift export control oversight for sporting and commercial firearms from the Department of State to the Department of Commerce. If passed, this law would bode well for U.S. manufacturers and essentially cut restrictive red tape that hinders their performance on the global stage. This proposition will be open for 45 days of public comment. If we stand together we can make sure that the fight for our firearms industry remains strong!!
Hunting & Fishing News – Hunting lands to be opened up…. Hunters and Fishermen in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Pennsylvania can thank Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke for his most recent proposition. Zinke has proposed to open an additional 248,000 acres to new or expanded hunting and fishing opportunities at 30 national wildlife refuges that are located in these states. If ratified, there will be over 300 units in the National Wildlife Refuge System where the public may hunt and/or fish. Alaska may also be given authority over hunting and fishing in their state as well if the proposition is ratified. Looks like the hunting and fishing industry will have some good times soon!!!
Minnesota – 2nd Amendment rights surge…. Last week in Minnesota, responsible armed citizens recorded a victory! The Minnesota House rejected several amendments to existing firearm legislation that would have proved to be detrimental to certain 2nd Amendment rights. These amendments would have banned the use of traditional ammunition for hunting on all wildlife management areas in Minnesota. This is a clear indication that the Minnesota lawmakers are listening to the desires of responsible armed citizens!!!
California – Cali you cant be serious!!!…. One of the most ridiculous updates we have ever heard of happened recently in California. This past week, California legislators considered legislation that will limit firearms purchases to “one gun a month” with limited exceptions, and will increase the age to purchase any firearm from 18 to 21 years old. Other utterly ridiculous propositions in California include the so-called “Iconic African Species Protection Act,” which in essence prohibits the import or possession of a list of African game species. As supporters of the 2nd Amendment, it is our duty that we fight restrictive legislation like this in order to keep our rights as strong as possible.
