Quite often we get questions from our readers about how and where we store our firearms. Well, first and foremost buckaroos, the exact location of our storage depot is undisclosed!!! If we told you where it was, we’d have to kill you!! But what we can do is show you how we store some of our most prized toys!!! Understand guys…. our set-up may be a little different from yours, but the most important aspect about your firearm storage is that it works for you. You should be able to quickly find items inside of your storage apparatus, and it should be able to protect your firearms and ammo from fire damage and keep them dry from any possible water damage.
Our Afield Series 32 has the exact logistical setup that we wanted for this particular safe. As you can see, the door organizer allows us to store 4 handguns and has several pouches for magazines, cleaning supplies, and other items. We decided to use this safe as storage for our favorite AR platforms since we play with those the most. We dedicated the top shelf for our common pistol calibers and made some easy labels (simply w/Velcro and cardboard). We also decided to put shelving in the right sided long-gun storage compartments so that we could accommodate some of our AR-15 ammo and other long-gun ammo.
Be sure when you store ammo and firearms in a safe that the safe is bolted to the floor and/or wall. This will ensure that the bad guys have an even harder time trying to get to your toys if need be. A few of the large Silica Gel Desiccants should work in keeping every thing nice and dry inside. We strongly suggest that you get a safe (or two!!) for storage of your firearms. It’s never a good idea to store your entire arsenal under your bed!!!
*** If you are unfamiliar with firearms and/or their accessories, and want to learn more, PSA strongly suggests that you find, enroll, and attend a comprehensive and reputable firearms safety course. Firearms safety is all of OUR responsibility.
We want to thank you for taking out the time to stop by our lane at the shooting range!!
