The Family that trains together….

So you’re at home, it’s a nice cozy night, the kids are tucked in and there’s a bump.  It’s time to kick into action and rely on your training.  But it hits you.   You’re the only one in the family who is familiar with what needs to happen…..and now is not the time to start to explain.

Bruh and Kris

It always does our training-hearts good when we see family members involved in training together.  Pairs of siblings, husband and wife, groups of cousins…if you carry your firearm around these people, why not train with them?  Imagine for a second the utility in you taking a training course that deals with clearing a room.  You’re with a good group of people but guess what…you don’t know a single face in the room.  Now…imagine the utility in taking the same course with the person that you sleep with every night….the person that you travel with every week….the people that you go to the range with on Monday nights.  You will more than likely be with familiar faces than with a bunch of complete strangers so why not train with them?

Make sure that part of your training is to have conversations with your family.  Talk to them about what to do in a defensive situation.  Where do they go?  What do they do?  If both you and your wife are armed and the SHTF, who moves where?  If you’re driving and begin to take fire, what do you do?  Your passengers?  Understand the importance of having a plan.  There are countless resources that offer group training.  We urge you to take advantage of these courses.  The family that trains together, survives together….

***  If you are unfamiliar with firearms and/or their accessories, and want to learn more, PSA strongly suggests that you find, enroll, and attend a comprehensive and reputable firearms safety course. Firearms safety is all of OUR responsibility.

We want to thank you for taking out the time to stop by our lane at the shooting range!!  We hope that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you stop back by early and often to catch up on all PSA updates!  We truly hope that we were able to hit the target, and if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to shoot them our way!!  We look forward to shooting the breeze with you soon again!!

And as always….remember to watch your six and stay low!!!
