Being active in one of the most rewarding industries in the world extends beyond simply going to the firing range once a week for us at PSA. It is important for us as custodians of our 2nd Amendment rights to ensure that we spread our reach as far as possible. With those sentiments in mind, we have made it a point to try and join as many industry associations as possible. The groups listed in this post most definitely do not exhaust the list of organizations that we belong to, but these are some of the most powerful and interesting (so we think!!!)….

National Rifle Association – The National Rifle Association was formed in 1871 by Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate. These dedicated patriots were unfortunately dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops and something had to be done!!! The underlying theme of the association would be to “promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis,” according to a magazine editorial written by Church. The rich history and strength of the NRA has the organization positioned perfectly to defend the 2nd Amendment with the help of its more than 5-million members. In civilian training, the NRA continues to be the leader in firearms education. The NRA boasts over 125,000 certified instructors that now train about 1,000,000 gun owners a year!!!

National African-American Gun Association – The National African-American Gun Association was launched on February 28, 2015 in Honor of Black History Month and was started with the main focus of exposing, educating, and motivating as many African American men and women to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. The NAAG was founded by Philip Smith, a graduate of the Univ of California, Davis. Being able to reach our community has always been a mission of PSA and the NAAG provides a wonderful platform to do just that.

Carry Guard – The NRA Carry Guard is a program initiated by the NRA and was created to provide dynamic, state-of-the-art insurance protection to those who legally defend themselves with a firearm, and to offer an elite, one-stop training option. Carry Guard insurance provides an amazing set of features that can help gun owners mitigate the potentially costly financial and legal consequences flowing from armed encounters, even if they did everything right. The Carry Guard program was developed by an expert team of military and law enforcement veterans and focuses on the unique legal, mental and physical circumstances shooters must be prepared to face after pulling the trigger.

National Shooting Sports Foundation – The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the official trade association for the firearms industry. The NSSF was founded in 1961, with the mission to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. The NSSF is proud to boast a membership of more than 12,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers. Every year, the NSSF brings to industry professionals SHOT Show….(to be held in Las Vegas for 2018).
