Guns Save Lives

Anyone from the Metro Atlanta area can attest that traffic inside the perimeter can be a bit of a fight at times!!  Just the other day while sitting at a red-light, we noticed that there was a loud horn blowing; coming from a vehicle to our left.  As we looked around, we spotted the driver of the horn blowing vehicle yelling obscenities towards us.  Turns out that the lady yelling at us was quite upset at a particular bumper sticker posted on the back window of the PSA-mobile:  “GUNS SAVE LIVES.”

As we rolled down our window to ascertain the cause of such calamitous behavior, we couldn’t help but to notice that all of this profanity and anger was being spewed from a middle-aged woman driving a mini-van with a “Child on Board” sticker on the passenger side window (wonderful example mom!!).  She proceeded to ask if we believed that our sticker was true, and upon answering in the affirmative, she stated that she would fight us…actually FIGHT us!  Needless to say, as responsible firearms owners, it was imperative that we remove ourselves from her sight as soon as the light changed!!!

As firearm professionals, it is paramount that we are able to look at our industry from all sides.  We at PSA do understand that there are tragedies that are committed quite often, and that these tragedies are generally committed with a firearm.  The truth of the matter is that although firearms were used in these crimes, the perpetrators, not the firearms should be to blame.  Not once has any of our firearms (and we’ve been legally carrying for the better half of two decades) discharged by themselves and harmed someone.  In other words, we submit to you that firearms actually save lives vs. harming lives.

As responsible citizens it is imperative that we understand the difference.  Maybe laws need to be changed to keep firearms out of the hands of the irresponsible….  Maybe more safeguards should be put into place to prevent (as much as humanly possible) such tragedies from occurring.  But to “Super Mom” we must say that guns do save lives.  One of the easiest examples is to look at our police forces.  Police forces nationwide use firearms everyday to protect and serve.  Granted that there are the sicko’s out there that carry a badge and gun, but these are definitely in the minority and our police forces do a wonderful job of protecting the citizens they are sworn to protect.  Likewise, take a look at our Armed Forces.  The soldiers that protect our way of life, do so with firearms.  Our Armed Forces are deployed around the globe to save the lives of innocent people and protect the citizens that strive to live responsibly.

***  If you are unfamiliar with firearms and/or their accessories, and want to learn more, PSA strongly suggests that you find, enroll, and attend a comprehensive and reputable firearms safety course. Firearms safety is all of OUR responsibility.

We want to thank you for taking out the time to stop by our lane at the shooting range!!  We hope that you enjoyed your stay and hope that you stop back by early and often to catch up on all PSA updates!  We truly hope that we were able to hit the target, and if you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to shoot them our way!!  We look forward to shooting the breeze with you soon again!!

And as always….remember to watch your six and stay low!!!
