From the Vault: Sig P938

It’s no secret that we at PSA have a certain affinity towards anything Sig…and this post buckaroos will not shy away from that fact!!  As you know, we always love to bring to you some of our personal firearms that we have in our vault, and today we have a real gem!!! Today, for all you wacky shooters we bring to you the Sig P938!  This little bugger is one special piece of firepower!  Coming in several different alterations, we will be taking a look at the “Extreme” model!

First things first….this pocket-pistol passes the aesthetic test with flying colors!!!  If this pistol isn’t just as pretty as she wants to be?!?!?!  Aside from a wonderful appearance, this pistol has several great features.  The bigger brother to the venerable P238, the P938 is chambered in 9mm, and will chew just about any load that you put through it!  The checkering on the front and rear of grip make handling this puppy a breeze.  The feel of the Extreme G-10 grip panels (comes standard on the pistol; made by Hogue) makes this pistol seem to melt into the hand!  The mag release button as well as the slide release lever both are pronounced enough to be a breeze to operate, yet ergonomic enough to not hinder effective operation.

For all of you fans of the 1911 platform, the Sig P938 doesn’t let you down!  Although a fraction of the size, this pistol has a similar trigger, it’s own beaver-tail, and comes with an ambi-safety just as found in many full-size 1911 offerings.  The pistol comes standard with night sights (that are incomparable to any we’ve seen on a pistol this size!) that make shooting this pistol in any lighting condition easy-peasy!  The slide serrations are just negative enough to get a good grip, but not too so that they cause cutting or bruising of the fingers.  The pistol comes with a Sig proprietary OWB holster (made of hard plastic), a flush magazine, and all of the normal accouterments usually offered by Sig for their pistols.

If you are in the market for one of these little guys, be prepared to pay a pretty penny!  But like my dear old granny used to say…. “You get what you pay for!”  These puppies run around $650 brand new, but some of your local gun stores may run them a little cheaper. Below you will find some quick photos of our personally owned Sig P938!
